Current Events

The Racing Kings World Championship Trophy

One of the biggest - no, the biggest event of Racing Kings started just yesterday. The Racing Kings World Championship is the official championship of Racing Kings. 3 of these were played from 2019-2021, with RoyalManiac (Roy Shroor) winning 2 of them, while the most recent was won by CyberShredder. Returning as co-organizer, Natso will be conducting this year's RKWC. As a co-organizer, we have FS-Schach. This year, RoyalManiac, the former chief organizer will not be organizing or playing. 44 players signed up, compared to last year's 54. This time, instead of double elimination, we will have a play-off type game.
Note: I didn't have time in this issue, but next issue, I hope to include a player list.
The first 3 games have been scheduled, with one already been played. The three scheduled include:
1. RacingKingsQueen (2011) vs. Guatham_A (1807) was played on the 29th of June, 2022. @RacingKingsQueen won the series of matches with 4 decisive matches to RacingKingsQueen, and 4 draws. The overall score was 6-2.
2. paulinho98 (1926?) vs. Somebody457 (1803)
This match is due to be played on the 2nd of July, 2022 on 2:30 UTC. They have never played before.
3. VladislavAlikin (2063) vs. jackdanielshoney (1798)
This match is due to be played on the 3rd of July, 2022 on 9 o'clock UTC. As far as I know, they have never played before.
4. Chrispy_Bacon (1816) vs. Special_Yeet (2014)
This match was due to be played on the 1st of July, 2022.
@Special_Yeet won the series of matches, with 6 decisive matches and 2 draws. 5 matches were won by Special, while 1 match was won by Bacon. The overall score was 6-2.
Okay, we have now talked in length about the Racing Kings World Championship, however something else that happened quite recently is the retirement of Roy Shroor. He will not be taking part in any more competitive play. This might be stale news for some, but being inactive for quite some time, I took this as a surprise! Roy was an active streamer on Twitch, and was 2-time Racing King World Champion. I don’t know the reason for his retirement from competitive play, but be sure to drop a comment in the forum post if you’ve got any ideas!

Leaderboard

Lets start off on no. 10, @Thorax_Lanues (2241). The English player has maintained top-10 status for quite a while, and is known to be one of the high-class players of Racing Kings.
9. @frezmati221 (2251)
This account is relatively new, but gradually increased their rating, and in term, their ranking. They are the developer of a bot that mainly plays Racing Kings.
8. @r2300 (2261)
Avi is the highest ranked Indian Racing Kings player. Though he has kept top-10 status, he also lingered on top-3 to top-5 for a while in the recent past.
7. @QueenEatingDragon (2267)
Another high-rated British player in Racing Kings, they are highly respected and known for being a great player. Not only are they good at RK, they are also great at non-variant chess. They have maintained top-10 status for quite a long time again.
6. @Artem_Medvedov-04 (2268)
The 2nd highest Russian player that still has their flag on. Prior to CyberShredder's flag changing, they were no. 3. Much like most players on this list, they have maintained this high ranking for quite a long time. They are known for mainly playing in arenas, with again, high rankings and results.
5. @YJP (2270)
The highest ranked player with the Earth flag on, @YJP had one of the longest rise to power. Just click on their profile and click all. They started off as a 1300 rated player. They have know earned over 900 rating points.
4. @seth_7777777 (2308)
The highest rated American player has had that honor for a long time. He is one of the oldest high ranked players. His worst rating was 1999, which is higher than my highest rating.
3. @Chipola14 (2335)
The highest Russian player with their flag on, their account is relatively knew, with barely 1 month to its name. They didn't join RKWC, being the only top 3 player not to do so.
2. @IMakeManyMistakes (2356)
IMMM has the highest streak of all of the top-10 ranked players, with a whooping streak of 51. He had 5th place in RKWC 2021. Quite recently, he had been no.1 ranked. His reaction his 1st ranking was and I quote, "...It's good. The RK Leaderboard hasn't been stable for a few months, so the #1 place keeps changing." As he predicted, the #1 did change.
1. @CyberShredder (2398)
He is the Racing Kings World Champion, and is a great player overall. He has been top-2 to top-5 for almost half a year now.

Tournaments

Top 10!

The Racing Kings Shield Arena is one of the most prestigious tournaments of Racing Kings. The most recent one was won by @IMakeManyMistakes, with a score of 302, in just 106 games. His win rate was 74% while the majority of his games were berserked.
On #2, we have @Javanshir2013. After reading the chat box, he did say that this was his first shield in 2 years that he could play before being banned. I do not have any other information of Javanshir, as his account has now been closed. I do not know whether he was or wasn't banned either. If you were active during the shield arena and know something else about him, please do tell me! Javanshir played 118 games, however Javanshir, however, was trailing 40 points behind IMakeManyMistakes. His win rate was 58% and his berserk rate was 81%.
With a bronze trophy, we have Avi, or @r2300. Trailing only 3 points behind Javanshir, he played 120 games, berserking each one. He had a 57% win rate.
It was obvious that berserking was common in this tournament, with the top 10 having 67%, 81%, 100%, 97%, 93%, 87%, 41%, 94%, 60% and 100% respectively. In total out of a possible 1000% percent beserk rate, the top ten had 820%. To put this in perspective, for every 6 non-berserked games the top-10 played, another 41 berserked games were played.
As for the Monthly Racing Kings Arena, it was won by Doooovid, with 48 games played, 71% win rate and almost half of the games beserked. On #2, we have M-A01, with 50 games played, 60% win rate and 88% beserk rate. With a bronze trophy, we have QED, with 30 games played, 70% win rate and 60% beserked. Compared to the Shield Arena, the beserking rate was much less.

Conclusion

Be sure to catch the next issue, where I’ll hopefully talk about the RKWC, and a full player list!
