Is 0+1 actually 3s+1?

Hello,

I have noticed that in 0+1 time control we start we 3 seconds, which is not what 0+1 means. Can you confirm that, and if so why is that, and also are there other departures of this kind from what the time control name says? Thanks.
We need a little bit of time to start with, because if we had no time at all then we would flag before we began the game.

Not necessarily, it would be possible to accumulate a little time in the opening. I'm not saying it's easy, but then one doesn't need to play 0+1. In any case my point is not that 3s+1 is a bad time control and should be replaced by an actual 0+1, it's more about the name not reflecting what it is, which is confusing and makes you think you don't understand how these time controls. So, I'd suggest to call it 3s+1.
#3 People will be confused that 3s+1 is faster than 1/2+1 and isn't the same as 3+1... I think 0+1 is OK.
Alright. I find it a bit confusing for newcomers, but maybe it's best to keep it as it is.
