It's just a idea

The topic of combining variants has been discussed in several other posts, and the admins seem uninterested.
Beside that, some random positions in three-check 960 would result in a forced win for one side or the other (as would be the case with 960 versions of other variants as well), so it would be a bad idea.
Though it would be fun, most variants would simply be unfair when put in random positions.
A program could not calculate and eliminate positions with a forced white/black gain?
That could work but it's just too complicated, probably even more complicated than bughouse and we want bughouse more than mixed variants.

Ok, I have seen this argument many times now. However nobody has any concrete evidence that there are such positions that are forced wins. Could you provide any concrete evidence, instead of just handwaving to support your argument.

As I said in the other posts, I doubt there are any forcing positions like that in any of the variant960s. If there are any, they would be something like #13 or #20, far too difficult for humans to derive OTB, and besides they would be far too rare. A chance of getting such a position would be probably less than 1% of all the 960 different possible positions.

So, I would say that unless you are a machine, the 960 mixed variants will indeed be fun.

Of course, I don't mind this feature being pushed to the back for now, for more important other features like bughouse/crazyhouse, but discarding it is silly to me, especially when all counterarguments are lame and baseless.
I agree with you. I've already asked for a possible 960 position in any variant .
Think of it, it would allow 5x960=4800 different games ! (with the 5 variants)
Let's not forget that the aim of a game is to have fun !
