Stockfish suggests wrong move

Yesterday I played my second flawless game on this site and looked at the analysis and found something weird (the game included one calculated risk though, when I played f4 on move 7 - I was praying that the opponent would not take the knight)

In move 15 stockfish suggests a move which prolongs the game while the move that I made, gives checkmate.

Why is it that stockfish does not see this?
PS: I hope my post does not sound pretentious - like I am better than the engine (which I am not), but it still makes me stockfish does not seem to find the right way to end the game.
Because the engine's depth is extremely limited. I doesn't see much beyond tiny tactics.
Agreed - the Lichess SF has quite a limited depth... look at the game with offline Stockfish and it should be fine.
What move is it suggesting to you? On my computer it suggests exactly the moves you played.
Sorry for very late reply, but stockfish didn't point out any inaccuracy there, you just had local analysis on and that was the move stockfish would have chosen, this move has the same purpose as your move, exploiting black's knight restriction to the h7 square. Both give mate in the same amount of moves.

Also, stockfish is actually really good on this site, so if you ever see something odd in the analysis pointed out by stockfish, you should doubt yourself, not the engine.
Thanks, man! But to be honest, I had problems following your suggestions. It's hard finding you way back into chess... my Elo dropped a lot.
I still remember this game though. It's my favourite I was on a roll during that time. Now I am fighting my way back up the 1600s. ;)
