Reports notifications. New amazing feature.

This is an amazing feature. When you report someone, you get a notification about actions. Recently I reported one player (who called me pathetic and stopped playing), and in 2 minutes I had got a message that he is banned. This is excellent, gives more feeling of safety.
Hard to believe. I reported some players for the most evil insults you can imagine. No action taken at all. And now for the word "pathetic"? I will try it next time. Even racism so far was no problem, very strange.
@ thibault
Sorry, but I can only repeat myself, no action was taken. Still I love lichess.

Yes, it was before. I didn't know about this feature until you mentioned it. And I really like it. No, they were not banned, I could not see any action at all. But believe me, I will put it to the test next time and then write here again. By the way, it was racism against Russians from a ukrainian player, who thought I'm Russian, just because I understood what he was saying.
Chat related bans aren't necessarily on display for everyone to see. So unless a mod sent you a message you would not be able to notice before the the report notification feature went live.
#3 I'm sorry but with respect that's not actually true. It took me numerous complaints about racism before Julian the sympathetic mod sorted it out. Others just talked about: 'free speech'.

It's only in the last year that people with such names as 'Jewkiller' had their accounts closed.

It may well be the case that racism is 'no longer tolerated' on this site, but to say 'we've never tolerated racism' is unfortunately not correct.
I'm not sure it follows that a free website unable to marshal the resources to solve every instance of a societal issue as big, multifaceted, and pernicious as racism, is thereby tolerating the problem.
Maybe the characterization is true in the most banal sense; that we are imperfect beings in an imperfect world and as such we tolerate things like poverty and racism when we could be doing more. Or maybe there is some terrible backstory that I don't know about because I haven't been a member all that long (in which case
I apologize). But, I guess I would argue that thibault's claim was sincere enough to stand as true, as evidenced by the continued devotion to improving this site, both technologically and socially, despite the absence of any incentivizing profit motive.
No community, no matter how healthy its process for redressing the grievances of its members is ever going alleviate every concern on a timeline that pleases everyone. Lichess is doing well enough that I don't doubt the seriousness of that commitment.

"By the way, it was racism against Russians from a ukrainian player"

By the way, why did you write Russians with a capital letter and Ukrainian without? Do not you equally respect both nations? Are you racist?
