What's the best: Lichess or Chess.com? And why is chess.com?

Share buttons are banned on lichess. Always have been, always will be.
That shouldn't prevent you from sharing your games! It's as easy as copying the URL and pasting it in your favorite social site. No need for spying buttons.
And yes a mention on FICS profiles is nice, too!

All though I am new to this site I love it here more then chess.com . Someone said stronger playes on chess.com well I think the stronger players are on here and the fact that there are no annoying ads on here either. I love it here and since coming here I have hardly played on chess.com.

The problem with chess.com is that while it started out good, it's consistently been selling out it's users information (I'm guessing here, but look at it's close relationship to facebook), deleting good content, making the interface worse, and monetizing it's features over time, not to mention adding tons of ads. That's why I deleted my account there and stopped paying for diamond membership. Lichess on the otherhand is just a really great chess site.

Yes and no. Chess.com sponsors people to make videos for their service, write articles and content, and produce advertising. They spend money, and they make money. They sponsor larger individuals in the chess world, and more people come to their service because of it.

Where do you think all that advertising revenue goes? On providing a better service? Heh, no.

It's not half as expensive as you think to supply a functioning chess website. Lichess is primarily funded by a sole individual, Thibault; and monetarily speaking he's a pretty average person.

So no, you don't need costly memberships and invasive advertising to supply a decent chess website. No, nobody's really breaking their back to keep lichess running. In all honesty, it's just a lot of fun.

The people that stream videos playing on lichess, they do it because they want to. The people who make videos on YouTube: they do it because they want to. Servers have been donated to us. Code and media content has been sourced from the community.

So what you need is a handful of people who are dedicated to the idea of creating a powerful community based chess website. Not large sums of money.

Any possibility to implement a javascript FICS client or anything else that would allow to see FICS players and play against them ?

There are some reason chess.com us better and have most visitor.1.have android and ios app 2.different them 3.good ads4.good domain this reason cause lichess have max1800player and chess.com16000player but i think if this problem solove lichess will have25000 max player.
