lately when playing to stockfish level 1700 i win almost all the games, so i'm looking for something stronger, but when playing the next level, which is 1900, i lose all the games. I would need an intermediate level. Can lichess provide the 1800 level of stockfish?
Take it as a Challenge. And use the "request takeback" button. The engine will always accept. Also take your time before moving.
I am almost certain, there will be no further SF levels. Or consider playing humans.

yes i also play humans but at times i prefer to play the computer because it's quicker and less stressful. Usually i don't like takebacks because if i win a game with takebacks it's not really a game won. Taking more time for the moves can be useful but i've seen SF 1900 is very sharp, i think at best i might be able to draw some games.
I am absolutely sure you can do better than a draw vs SF 6. All you need to do is thinking longer. The last game vs lvl 6 you mainly lost because you blundered a Knight fork. This should not happen when you take your time.
Introducing more levels would require a more complex user interface, which might confuse players. :-(
Maybe try giving yourself pawn odds, or challenging the AI from an opening position?

I don't understand how the interface would confuse players, now there are 8 levels, i'm just asking to add another level, it doesn't seem to me this affects the interface. In any case level 5 and level 6 are very different in strength, so it makes sense to ad an intermediate step. I think many players are stronger than level 5 but weaker than level 6.
Using more time is a valuable suggestion, but i often use SF when i don't want to spend much time on a game. When I play level 5 games last about 15 minutes, and i often win. I think beating level 6 would require to me more than an hour, if i'll ever be able to do it. Moreover when i have played for an hour without seeing how to win i get a bit bored or tired and i can easily blunder.

can i download stockfish on my windows computer and configure it to obtain an intermediate level between levels 5 and 6 of this site? I found this blog post
it.lichess.org/blog/U4mtoEQAAEEAgZRL/strongest-chess-player-ever
in which it is specified
AI level 1: skill 3/20, depth 1, 50ms
AI level 2: skill 6/20, depth 2, 100ms
AI level 3: skill 9/20, depth 3, 150ms
AI level 4: skill 11/20, depth 4, 200ms
AI level 5: skill 14/20, depth 6, 250ms
AI level 6: skill 17/20, depth 8, 300ms
AI level 7: skill 20/20, depth 10, 350ms
AI level 8: skill 20/20, depth 12, 400ms
I downloaded a tool 'Scid vs pc' that includes stockfish, there is a skill parameter but i'm not sure where to find the other parameters. I find a 'min split depth' parameter which is set to 0 by default. For time there are at least three parameters 'emergency base time' (default = 200), 'emergency move time' (default = 70), 'minimum thinking time' (default = 20). Moreover there are other different parameters that are set to their default values, don't know whether these are to accept or modify ...

Here's the current AI level configuration:

I don't know anything about running Stockfish on Windows... perhaps someone else can advise.
