Pet peeve/bad gamesmanship

Monaco712 can't really complain about bad sportsmanship if he/she isn't willing to resign a lost position.

Personally, when I get some dumbass who won't resign, I tend to promote as many queens as possible...
Monaco712 must be one of those guys who thinks his farts don't stink. He won't resign in a completely lost position yet he whines about the opponent promoting an extra queen and wasting his time.

Tip your King and swallow your pride in a completely lost game if the other guy wants to keep going it's his right to keep playing keep Queening he could take all of your pieces left and humiliate you before he finishes you off.

#32 & #33 You're quite right - but Jeeez is there any need to be so unpleasant about it?!
Thank you for all the comments. the investor unfortunately
had to take it in the gutter with foul language and make it
personal. I pity him but will pray for him that he grows up.
My main topic was not on resigning but on
running up the score. There was a college football game
where the score was 52-10 and the coach called for a go
route and got another touchdown. He was widely
criticized and had to apologize on national television.
I can only tell you that its not something I would do.
The response that made the most sense was that maybe the
player wanted to be sure no accidental draw occurred
and was just being safe. I tried to ask his thoughts but
he left the game. Of course a player can run up the
score and do anything want. My question would just
be whats the point? As one comment said to punish me
for not resigning. That's not the way I think.
It looks like most of the comments disagree with me
and that's perfectly fine. I enjoy the debate.
With the exception of the vulgar language.

I would like to point out that American Football and chess are complete different games and you can not compare it.
They are both forms of competition which is
a universal concept. One uses brains. The other
brains and brawn.
what? believe in whatever you want. Here we play chess and we resign in lost positions, because we respect each other. Other thing is that you cannot get more points for better position, more goals, towchdowns. Win is a win.
I hope you don't or never have kids with that foul
mouth of yours.
@monaco712:

"I obviously could have resigned but wanted to make a point."

Well, your opponent obviously could have mated you but wanted to play on and have some fun with his queens.... I dont get it, whats the problem?

resign is not a crime, its a sign of prime!
